Insanlar
Insanlar, a collective rooted in Istanbul, emerged organically from the Minipop series in late 2010. Led by Baris K and Cem Yıldız, the group expanded to include Turkish hip-hop artist Kabus Kerim, dancer Bahar from Baba Zula, percussionist Sinan Tansal, and drummer Alican Tezer. Known for their shamanistic techno folk hybrid, Insanlar's music is deeply influenced by Anatolian Alewi religious poetry and characterized by an energetic, almost punkish attitude. Their international breakthrough came with the release of "Kime Ne" on Honest Jon's label in 2015. Their latest work, "Demedim Mi," showcases their unique blend of traditional Anatolian/Mesopotamian instrumentation, electronic music, and spiritual/philosophical lyrics, captivating festival audiences with its downtempo, techno, folk, and minimal techno styles.
Insanlar played in Wiese at Garbicz festival 2024.
