Jiony, co-founder of VAA, a Mexico City-based electronic music label, is recognized for his distinctive and identifiable sound in the contemporary downtempo scene. His musical style spans from Nu-Jazz to Techno, Trip-Hop, Funk, and Latin music. Over the past ten years, he has collaborated with artists such as Nicola Cruz, El Buho, Matanza, and Nicolas Jaar, and is involved in various projects including CasaNegra, Ser Humano, Extraperastrre, and Karen y Los Remedios. His live acts are multifaceted, incorporating various instruments, live looping, and improvisation. As a DJ and Selector, he enjoys blending different genres such as Hip-hop, Funk, Jazz, Latin, House, and Techno.
