Las Marikarmen

Las Marikarmen, a collective project rooted in Barcelona, Spain, merges music, performance, and drag to create a unique space for dissident identities. Their sound is a fusion of hip hop, rap, and folkloric elements, often reinterpreting popular songs with a transfeminist twist. The group operates horizontally, with all members contributing to singing, dancing, playing instruments, and performance art on stage. Their theatrical concerts exude radical queer-punk energy and a peculiar affection for folkloric grandmas, resulting in an unconventional blend of brass-band punch and drag artistry. Expect high-energy performances featuring wigs, heels, and booty-shaking.
