DJ and producer Philo, known as Philomene Robinne, blends various musical styles in her sets. Originally from Cologne with French roots, she now resides in Vienna. Her repertoire spans campy house, raw breaks, and groovy oldschool techno, with a background in vinyl-only jungle DJing. Philo's performances are characterized by ravey stabs, subverted diva vocal chops, and richly layered percussion in her uplifting house sets. Her techno sets evoke 90s warehouse nostalgia. Known for exploring diverse musical territory, Philo's sets seamlessly tie together souvenirs from different locations. Philo has played at renowned venues such as London's Rupture, Fusion festival, Open Ground, and various clubs in Vienna and Hamburg. She also hosts the 'Take a Break' radio show on Callshop Radio and co-founded the DJ collective Precey with Marie Montexier, No:Elia & Aino DJ. Her releases span labels like Defrostatica, Hardcore Energy, Stereo45, Nice & Deadly, and Miura records, showcasing her breaks-heavy roots while incorporating elements of jungle, footwork, or UK hardcore. Her current productions often blend an element of uplifting house into the mix.
