Playroots, the moniker of Aníbal Valenzuela, crafts immersive downtempo music that seamlessly blends ancient rhythms with electronic textures. His repertoire includes instruments such as handpan, kalimba, balafon, and djembe, creating deep, earthy grooves. Over the years, Playroots has performed across Europe, gracing stages in Lisbon, Ibiza, Paros & Antiparos, Berlin, Mallorca, Barcelona, and Cluj. His musical journey is marked by releases on platforms like NewLatamBeats, RitmosdelSur, Café de Anatolia, DowntempoTemporal, and more. Notable tracks include "Yatiri" (2025), a sonic exploration of Andean, African, and electronic landscapes; "El Poder en mí ft. Serjiño" (2023), a downtempo fusion of world music and folktronica; and "La Prima Vera" (2016), a reggae and Hip Hop infused composition. In addition to his live performances, Playroots has also showcased his skills as a DJ with sets like "afroreggaecumbia estail" (2017), "VACIARTE" (2015), and "Alpha" (2014), which features elements of dancehall, Hip Hop, dub, and psycocumbia.
