Sonido Gallo Negro is a Peruvian band known for reviving the psychedelic cumbia sound of the 1970s, blending it with sub-genres like chicha, Amazonian cumbia, huayno, cumbia sonidera, and Boogaloo. Their debut album "Cumbia Salvaje" (2011) received positive reviews in national and international media, leading to invitations to the Kustendorf film and music festival in Serbia and performances in Italy and Spain. The band is set to perform at Vive Latino in 2013, coinciding with the release of their second album.
