Sound 8 Orchestra

The Sound 8 Orchestra, a project helmed by Matthias Wyder, blends easy listening, low budget lounge music, Retro Futuristic B-Movie soundtracks, and psychedelic Electro Sounds into an eclectic mix reminiscent of Lee Perry, Add N To X, Sun Ra, and James Bond Soundtrack. Live performances by Wyder create a funky and vibrant atmosphere, enhanced by super 8 projections. The group has released four records: "Golden Memories" (2007), "Nonstop Dancing" (2011), "Grooves from another Galaxy" (2017) on Langusta Entertainment, and a vinyl single with two tracks “Casio Sound/Jonnys Theme" in 2013. Additionally, they have a Flexidisc Postcard (Vol.4) released in 2015 on Grand Marquis Postcards. Matthias Wyder's instrument arsenal includes Korg ms10, Korg ms20, Heimorgel, Hawaii Guitar, Guitar, Stylophone, Laptop, and Super 8 Films. Mareike Hube and Fred Girardet contribute with super 8 projections during live shows.
