In the European underground goth scene, She Cant Afford Mascara emerged as a unique voice representing South Asian culture. Born in the gay nightlife scene of Berlin and Kopenhagen, the artist Adam Shazard began their journey at 14. Their music, a fusion of newbeat goth EBM and Pakistani/ethnic musical traditions, is showcased on the album Cemetery Gangbang. This release, a field of melodramatic, depressed truth about Pakistani goth trauma, is a testament to the delusion and glamour found in sticky dancefloors within the scene. Adam Shazard is responsible for the ideas, visions, lyrics, and vocals, while Sune "Køter" Kølster handles composition, production, mixing, and mastering.
