Bandulera, also known as Gianna Panini, is a prominent figure in Hamburg's subcultural bass scene. Born on Sardinia, she has been residing in Hamburg for some time and is a resident DJ and promoter there. Known for her fearless and elaborate combination of various genres within the new bass school, such as Dubstep, Grime, D'n'B, Footwork, UK Garage, Trap, Baile Funk, or Kuduro, Bandulera seamlessly blends these sounds in a way that challenges the apparent boundaries between them. Her eclectic taste and curation of her own event series in Hamburg bring UK bass culture to the city. Over ten years, she has shaped the city's subculture, whether behind the decks, as a promoter, or in the backoffices of its clubs. Her sets are more multi-dimensional than what is typically intrinsic to monogenic parties, bringing together what belongs together — at least when you look at the history of bass culture and listen to your hips.
