Bixiga 70 is a vibrant big band from São Paulo, known for blending Malinke traditions, cumbia, and spiritual jazz into a unique sound that represents Brazil's diverse musical landscape. Formed in 2010 at Traquitana studios on Rua Treze do Maio, number 70, the tentet has been creating music that is both contemporary and rooted in vintage sounds, such as Afrobeat and the Black Rio Movement. Their sound is characterized by its high energy, strong improvisation, and a collective spirit that values each member's individuality. In 2023, they released tracks like "Parajú," "Baile Flutuante," and "Na Quarta-Feira."
