Buzz Ayaz

In the divided heart of Nicosia emerges Buzz Ayaz, a groundbreaking ensemble led by Antonis Antoniou of Monsieur Doumani and Trio Tekke. This project masterfully blends Eastern Mediterranean psychedelia with blues and urban rock, creating a raw, captivating soundscape. Tribal-inspired drums and growling bassclarinet riffs form trance-like rhythms, punctuated by unexpected twists in the arrangements. Steeped in folk traditions yet reshaped into something strikingly modern, their music is a sonic mosaic of synth textures, dub echoes, vintage psych organs, and microtonal melodies.
