Music producer and video director Krista Papista hails from Nicosia, Cyprus, but currently resides in London, Berlin, and Athens. Her artistic identity is defined by her self-coined genre "Sordid Pop," which blends politically influenced Cypriot, Middle Eastern, and Balkan pop with Euro Trash EDM. Her discography includes releases such as "Euro Divas" (2026), "Fucklore" (2023), and "Sultana" (2018). These works span various genres including electronic, hip hop, pop, rock, folk, world, and country, with styles ranging from ethno-pop to post-punk and synth-pop. Krista Papista's work challenges homogeneous nationalist narratives through music, performance, and reinvented artifacts, creating a subversive counterpoint. Her performances have been showcased in Boiler room, Creamcake, Hyperreality, and Subbacultcha.
