The Space Lady, known as Susan Dietrich, is a renowned figure in synth-pop and outsider music. Originating as a street performer in the 1970s across Boston and San Francisco, she garnered attention with her distinctive silver winged helmet and haunting synth covers played on a battery-powered Casio keyboard. Following a retirement in 2000, her music found a new audience online, prompting a comeback in 2012. Her music is characterized by its simple, cosmic sounds and DIY spirit.
