Bakir

Electronic trio Bakir, hailing from Marseille, push musical boundaries with a fusion of North African rhythms from the Maghreb to Middle Eastern melodies, seasoned with Mediterranean maqams. Their energetic blend of traditional instruments, drum machines, and synthesizers invites movement and dance towards trance. Combining Eastern, ethnic, and industrial sounds, the trio offers a timeless universality. The three musicians, longtime collaborators within the collective label Baklawa Music, bring together Morocco and Marseille to rejuvenate the Maghrebin musical universe, creating original compositions with traditional influences. Their discography includes remixes of Enur feat. Natasja's "Calabria," Tinariwen's "Sastanàqqàm," and Maza Akaloulou, as well as their own releases such as "Aicha" (2024), tagged as electro, electro maghreb, electro oriental, and hailing from Marseille.
