Ground

DJ/Producer Ground, based in Osaka, Japan, is known for his unique approach to sound production. He processes and reimagines sounds from around the world, creating a distinctive dancefloor-oriented style that evokes otherworldly landscapes. Ground began his career as a DJ in his teenage years, immersed in Japan's underground music scene. He co-founded the Chill Mountain collective, which hosted events on Osaka's mountainous outskirts. Later, he established Chill Mountain Recordings alongside sound engineer Kabamix and designer Mt.chills. Their collaborative efforts have led to performances at numerous festivals and events across 27 countries, including the USA, Canada, Chile, Brazil, Germany, Ecuador, Croatia, Israel, Cyprus, and Switzerland. Ground's discography includes seven albums, seven EPs, numerous singles, and collaborations. His 2018 debut album, SUNIZM, was released on the LA label ESP Institute. Ground's recent releases under Chill Mountain Rec include "What Your Tempo (CMR-70)", tagged as Alternative, Osaka, and Japan Beats.
