Las Marikarmen

Las Marikarmen, a collective project, merges music, performance, and drag to create a unique space for dissident identities in the rural Collserola region of Barcelona. Their sound is characterized by a fusion of hip hop, rap, and folkloric elements, as evidenced in their releases such as "Ladyboi" (2021) and "Abuelita Folklórica" (2020). The group's theatrical concerts offer a radical queer-punk energy, intertwined with a peculiar affection for folkloric grandmas, resulting in unexpected reinterpretations of popular songs. Expect high-energy performances featuring brass-band punch and drag artistry, culminating in booty-shaking in wigs and heels.
