DJ Tahira, a prominent figure in Brazil's music scene for over two decades, is renowned for his eclectic and instructive DJing style that seamlessly blends genres and eras. His work is heavily influenced by African, Latin, Brazilian, jazz, 70s funk, disco, and soul music. Tahira's productions have garnered praise from industry legends such as Francois K, Gilles Peterson, Laurent Garnier, and Gilberto Gil himself. His netlabel EBS Diggin promotes contemporary sounds from Brazil's underground scene, showcasing a rich diversity of traditional and electronic music. Based in Florianopolis, Tahira has been promoting Brazilian culture both domestically and internationally as a DJ, compiler, and producer. While many focus on Brazilian Disco, Baile Funk, and Bossa Nova, Tahira's musical focus often extends to the African influences and contemporary sounds of his country.
