Bixiga 70, a Brazilian big band formed in 2015 by Ronaldo Evangelista, blends jazz, funk, and Afro-Brazilian music with influences ranging from dub and reggae to cumbia and carimbó, ethio-jazz, and samba-jazz. Known for their high-energy, danceable instrumental music that balances individual expression with collective harmony, they have performed in various countries and Brazilian states, including France, Belgium, Germany, and the USA. Their third album, simply titled "Bixiga 70," showcases a decentralized creative process involving all members and reflects a continuous line of creation and evolution.
