KING DAVID

King David, a Berlin-based artist, is renowned for his deep connection with Jamaican music styles. His journey began at 16, when he started collecting and playing records, eventually establishing King David Soundsystem in 1995. The system has evolved over the years, starting with 500 watts and reaching an audience of approximately 10,000 by 2010. His music is characterized by a focus on Reggae, Bass, and Steppers genres, as showcased in his releases such as "Ital Breakfast Records 1201 A-Side promotional mix" (2025) and "Ital Breakfast Records 1201 B-Side promotional mix" (2025). His sound is further defined by elements of Rub-A-Dub, digital, new roots, and vinyl juggling. Since moving to Berlin in 2000, King David has been a significant figure in the local Reggae/Soundsystem scene until around 2012. He returned in 2022 with King David Soundsystem 2.0, also launching his label "Ital Breakfast Records" and hosting the "Ital Breakfast Radioshow" on Heartical FM and Omy Radio monthly.
