Rebeca Lane, born Rebeca Eunice Vargas in Guatemala City, is a rap artist known for her global workshops and presentations. She released the EPs "Canto" (2013), "Poesía Venenosa" (2015), and "Alma Mestiza" (2016), followed by the Latin and mestizo rap album "Obsidiana" in 2018. Lane has performed at significant festivals domestically and internationally, promoting Guatemalan rap to other countries and continents. She is also the founder of SOMOS GUERRERAS, a project aimed at empowering women through hip hop by creating spaces for training, fellowship, and event production. Lane has published poetry in various Latin American publications and maintains a blog featuring her work titled "Mujeres de bolsa grande y zapatos bajos." Additionally, she is a sociologist with multiple publications and presentations on urban cultures and youth identities, particularly focusing on hip hop culture.
