The Waves & Band
The Waves, a duo of brothers, were raised in a musically inclined family, with their mother playing classical piano. They began learning piano and violin from kindergarten age, but their passion for electronic music ignited after discovering works by Martin Garrix and Hardwell in 2014. At just 15 years old, they started performing in clubs around Graz. In 2018, The Waves released their debut single Lock Up on DMN Family, followed by All I Want, a collaboration with New York rapper Drama B. This single amassed over 1 million streams across all platforms. They subsequently signed with Flare Talents and Diverge Records, releasing Knockin in 2020. Their single Hold On, released in 2021 with Fred Owusu and Flare Talents, reached notable charts positions in Austria and was featured on radio playlists. The duo also performed live in the final of Austrian casting show Starmania 21. In 2022, they released Breathing, a collaboration with Italian singer Daniele Sorrentino, which WeRaveYou described as a "feel-good song" and a "mainstream hit". Their first festival appearance was at the HighLight Summerclub Festival in Dortmund, sharing the stage with renowned DJs like Nicky Romero, Felix Jaehn, Topic, and Toby Romeo. Their breakthrough came in 2023 with Tu Peux, a remix of L'odeur des joints by Hollydays, released together with Psaiko. Dino. The TikTok videos garnered over 1 million views and inspired more than 300 creations. The song was included in the programme of Radio NRJ, Europe's largest private radio company, and marked their first radio appearance on the NRJ Extravadance Show.
